Lucchesi’s work has always been driven by the attempt to visually translate the reflections emerging from the exploration of the psyche—the emotional states of the individual in relation to himself, others, and his surroundings.
Through visual metaphors drawn from universal languages born of an artistic and spiritual quest, emotions take on form and color.
One of his key references is the earth understood as the subterranean—a metaphor for the emotional layering of the observed subjects: earth as an inner environment and roots as the essence of the individual.
In his sculptures, the base is not merely a support but an environment—sometimes carved out from monoliths, sometimes constructed like a box, an “inner theater.”
Solid monoliths of iron, marble, concrete, or ceramic house small bronze figures that assume metaphorical postures, attitudes, or intentions—a visible manifestation of their inner world.
These are different choices, yet united by one inspiring medium: the search for an inner self that, when pursued with determination, is found and brought to the surface. Lucchesi, along with his creations, seeks evocative places that, as his exploration unfolds, provide both momentum and a scenographic backdrop that is appropriate and coherent with his artistic inquiry.
A thread—whether in graphic design or painting—serves as a boundary between the self and the outside, allowing for the free contamination and connection across different planes, as seen in the “Interior Environments” where the thread marks the transition. The spaces chosen to breathe life into his works are selected with care: places rich in evocative depth and charm, whether painted by nature or crafted by human hands, as long as they possess that compelling power to encompass new art, a new interpretation of human emotion.
